In an interview to The Lallantop, Rahul said- I was not given a chair to sit on in my first film. I was the lead actor. I never struggled. I went straight from stage to playing the lead role, and there was no actress in the film – there was only me.

Rahul further said, ‘I was never given a chair on the set. Sometimes I would sit on the road divider or parapet, as if there was no problem, but other people always had chairs. The producer, his sister, his uncle – everyone got a chair, except me.’

Rahul further said- After facing such treatment for a few days, I went to a restaurant where there was a fan version of the chair from our set. At that time, it cost 10 thousand, about 30 years ago but I bought my own chair. Since that experience, I always bring my own chair to the set because I never want to go through that humiliation again.
